Transportation Support for Car Payments, Insurance Available for Residents Impacted by COVID-19
CHASKA, MINN.—The Carver County Board of Commissioners approved a COVID-19 transportation relief program using Federal funding from the Coronavirus Aide, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES), allowing residents impacted by COVID-19 to receive up to $2,500 towards car payments and auto insurance.
“Access to transportation is essential to ensure vibrant and economically-secure communities,” Carver County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik said. “I support investments made to ensure that every resident is connected to multiple types of transportation.”
The program allows up to $2,500 for qualified Carver County residents and families who can’t pay their car payments and insurance.
The program allows assistance for current and past due bills, dating back to March 1, 2020. Residents must show a loss of income due to COVID-19.
Funding is available on a first come, first serve basis before November 1, 2020.
